Are these the good old days?

We tend to look at the past nostalgically and wonder where all the good old days have gone. But, is this true? Were those really so good and did we think they were at the time? Maybe sometimes they were. Other times, we tend to forget how it really was and have selective memories .
We are still here on earth for a purpose-not to just live out our days and pine for the days of yore!. These are the good old days for those who are making them count for eternity. We still all yearn for the simpler innocent days of the past, but must realize God has put us here to live NOW and glorify Him until our days are finally all past or until the Lord returns.. We have the"good new days" of endless eternity to look forward to in Christ! That makes these seem like good old days with eternity'' values in  view!

Politics are empty

If you think that our hope lies in a political parties-you will surely be disappointed. Anyone who is trusting politicians is on quicksand. It is clear to me that a republic cannot stand without morality as Bejamin Franklin once observed. That is why libertarianism could never work in an immoral society like ours. Whoever becomes President--we are in for tough, dangerous times.Only a President with core values without regard to polls will cause us to prosper as a nation. None  that are still in the running would qualify .

McCain-no way!

Mitt Romney has just announced he is dropping out of the race. Will we then be expected to line up under McCain??. Not this man. I fully realize it would possibly mean an Obama or Clinton presidency. I cannot go against my conscience. Please read Dr. James Dobson's recent letter on why he will not support McCain. I agree with every word and he has said it very elequently. I see a parallel to 1976 and 1996. When the Republicans go liberal or moderate --they lose. But, we got Ronald Reagan because of the failed Carter presidency. God is still in control and I cannot vote for a man just so my party wins an election. I cannot vote for McCain in faith and whatever is not of faith is sin. I am not telling you what to do other than to vote your conscience and pray for guidance. Mark Sorenson
